Insectivorous plants are green in colour even then they eat insects because of the fact that it contains chlorophyll in the leaf. Since the pigment of chlorophyll is green in colour hence the colour of the leaf and stem in an insectivorous plant is always green in colour. The insectivorous plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral. Hence they do photosynthesis to carry out the work.

Answer:

Insectivorous plants derive their nutrition or prepare their food by the process of "photosynthesis". This is why they are green in colour. However, insectivorous plants are always observed to grow on soils that are deficient in certain nutrients that the plant require for their growth and metabolism. This is why, these insectivorous plants trap and eat these insects and crush them to draw out all the nutrients from the insect, and then they discard the lifeless insects.
