In order to fulfill the deficiency of nitrogen, they trap the insects ( these have proteins and proteins are the polypeptide chains which contain amino acids, amino acid in turn has nitrogen as one of its elements ) and utilize their proteins. For this reason it is called insectivorous plant also. It traps prey in rolled leaf that contains a pool of digestive enzymes or bacteria that help in the digestion of the trapped insects
