Insectivorous plants like venus flytrap and pitcher plants are green plants that can photosynthesize . Then why do they need to feed on insects?

the pitcher plant and the venus flytrap are green and can photosynthsize but they remain with some deficiency of nutrients.So to fullfill this deficiency they feed on insects.
