Insects have spores for gaseous exchange that are known as spiracles. These are present in cockroaches, grasshopper. They are present on the side of the body.

Plants have spores for a gaseous exchange on the surface of leaves that are known as stomata. They are present on the lower surface of the leaves.

Spiracles are present on the sides of insects' body while stomata are present on the lower surface of leaves. Spiracles are fewer in number as compared to stomata. Spiracles lead to an extensive network of tracheal system which is absent in the leaves
