u have to divide the sum of these two by 2

i.e; [-2/3+(-1)]/2

[-2/3 -1]/2 [as + and - = -]

[-2-3/3]/2

(-5/3)/2

(-5*2)/3. [after reversing to get a fraction]

= -10/3
