Given :- insert two rational numbers between 2 and 5 by using mean method ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • In order to find a rational number between two rational numbers x and y using mean method is = (x + y)/2

given that,

→ x = 2

→ y = 5

so,

→ first rational number between x and y is = (x + y)/2 = (2 + 5)/2 = (7/2)

now, again let,

→ x = (7/2)

→ y = 5

so,

→ second rational number between x and y is = (x + y)/2 = (7/2 + 5)/2 = (7 + 10)/4 = (17/4)

therefore, two rational numbers between 2 and 5 by using mean method are (7/2) and (17/4) .
