Inside a circle , whose radius is 13cms, there is a point M at a distance of 5 cm from the centre of a circle.A chord AB , whose length is 25 cm is drawn through the point M. What will be the lengths of the segments into which the chord is divided by point M.

Consider, the chord is divided into two equal segments at point m.

We know, distance between center of circle and point M=5

 Radius = 12

So, according the Pythagoras theorem, the other side of the triangle which also would be the segment of chord is equal to 13.

Length of segments of chord = 13

Total length of chord = 26.........
