Inside a rectangular garden 21 m long and 17 m wide, a 1.5 m

First take the area of garden=21*17= 357 m^2

then the area covered by margins=17*1.5(along width)=25.5

so total area covered by margins along the width is 51.0

area covered by margins along the length=21*1.5=31.5

total area covered along the length=63.0

minus the area of the squares made due to intersecting of lines=1.5*1.5=2.25

thus area to be subtracted=2.25*4=9

total area covered by margins=(63+51)-9=105 m^2

tuberose to be planted=3*105=315
