Inside a rectangular garden 24m long and 18m wide ,2m margin is left for planting tulip stems can be planted in 1m and each tulip stem costs ₹30,find the total expenditure incurred.​

Find the area of the rectangle garden:


Area = Length x Breadth


Area = 24 x 18 = 432 m²



Find the area of the inner rectangle:


Area = Length x Breadth


Area = (24 - 2 - 2)x (18 - 2 - 2) = 280 m²



Find the area of the plot used to plant tulips:


Area = 432 - 280 = 152 m²



Find the number of tulips planted:


1 m² = 4 tulips


152 m² = 4 x 152 = 608 tulips



Find the cost of the tulips:


1 tulip = 30


608 tulips = 30 x 608 = Rs 18,240



Answer: The cost is Rs 18,240
