She has a lot of wealth but she is unhappy is the compound sentence.
Conversion of simple to compound sentences:
- Simple sentences are without any conjunctions or coordinators to connect between two phrases or sentences. Whereas a compound sentence consists of a coordinator that connects the co-ordinate clause and the main clause.
- A simple sentence can be converted into a compound one by increasing a phrase or word length to make it a co-ordinate clause.
- We have to first bring the coordinator that can be used in the sentence to connect both the sentence.
- Some coordinators include and, or, yet, & but, etc. One of these coordinators can be used depending upon the sentence.
- Here, it is implied that the noun 'she' is wealthy but still unhappy. So the coordinator 'but' can be used to start a coordinate clause.
- Thus, our coordinate clause will start from 'but she is unhappy' and the rest of the sentence will turn into the main clause.
- Which will be 'she has a lot of wealth'.
