Inspite of time differences,how does india adopt a uniform time

Well if u see that India is not a very wide country so it was decided that India can have one time zone (IST). India could also have had 2 time zones and the difference between east and west is of nearly 2 hrs and to avoid any confusion India decided to have 1 single time zone and which passes through Mirzapur near Allahabad in UP.
