In this activity you will be writing a thank-you letter. Feel free to review any of the lectures or
lessons for guidelines on how to properly format or write a thank-you letter.
1. Open the Word Processing software of your choice.
2. From the four job listings at the end of these instructions, choose an employer to whom
you would like to write your cover letter. Carefully read over the job duties and
qualifications that you need in order to get the job. Think about how you will talk about
your skills and qualifications.
3. A thank-you letter generally has a heading and three to four main paragraphs: the
introduction, the argument (one to two paragraphs), and the closing.
4. Heading: The heading that you use here should be formatted in exactly the same way
as your résumé.
a. Location: Usually located at the top of the first page of the thank-you letter
