1) You can take empty talcum powder containers or any containers and decorate it by painting or sticking. 
2) You can take broken bangles (I prefer glass ones) and make random shapes by arranging it on a piece of paper or cardboard. 
3) You can take pencil sharpener waste and make flowers and designs.
4) You can make paper mach`e out of newspaper.
5) You can take newspaper and use it for origami.
6) You can take empty soft drink bottles and make beautiful vases.
7) You can take empty containers and make musical instruments out of them.
