This integral can be done with substitution or seperation as well as so many other methods.

But here is one basic solution

∫ (2x+3)/(x+1) dx

=∫ (2x+2+1)/(x+1) dx

=∫ 2(x+1)/(x+1)dx +∫ 1/(x+1)dx

=∫ 2dx+∫ 1/(x+1)dx

=2x+ln(x+1) +c.
