INTEGRITY- A WAY OF LIFE.
Integrity is the means of living one's life in truthfulness and honesty. The adherence to this strong sense of moral conduct and strong societal ethics enables a person to live a life of integrity. It will lead to the person being respected and appreciated wherever he may go.
As humans, we all live a life of our own choices, some of which may not exactly be the way we want to but we are prone to it. Some deeds will leave us happy while some will make us question why we even do it in the first place. But no matter what we may do and act, it is all up to us to remedy whatever mistakes we may have done to others and even to our own selves.
A life of integrity is not an easy path to follow. A man will come upon numerous temptations and even get sidetracked in the process. There are also numerous instances where our wants and needs will not be on the same path. We also have the dilemma of doing what is right but hurt us or do what is wrong but make us happy. All these choices will determine how we live our lives, whether clinging on to the integrity of our true self or faltering to the needs of physical stability.
Integrity will be found only when we are ready to make sacrifices even to the extent of losing our own selves. There are greater and nobler things that can make us all the more respectful. But to gain that stature, we cannot easily get it. Rather, it involves immense sacrifice and perseverance, strong will and the mindset to achieve it no matter what may come. But as humans living dependent on one another, we must all try to make sure that our fellow human beings do not feel any inconvenience to be with us. Rather, we must try to make their lives easier, and in order to do so, we must take them into consideration whenever we are to take any action. If we make them happy, we are indirectly making ourselves happy. No matter the issue may be, if our neighbors are happy, then there will be no need for them to trouble us which leaves us happy in return.
A life of integrity is what we all need in this world. Consideration and compassion for others is the only solution to make our world a peaceful one. If we only work towards our own happiness and satisfaction, there is no saying how many people we might have to offend and hurt. But if we work on making others happy first, then there is no doubt that the action will come back to us, making us happy in return. And in this self-realization of wholeness, we will find that all we need has always been to look out for others first and not our own selves. This is true integrity, being truthful in our every action.
