APICAL MERISTEM:THESE ARE SITUATED AT THE GROWING TIP OF STEMS AND ROOTS i.e.,AT SHOOT APEX AND ROOT APEX.APICAL MERISTEM ARE ALSO FOUND AT APICES OF THE LEAVES

INTERCALARY MERISTEM:THEY ARE LOCATED AT THE BASE OF LEAVES OR INTERNODE e.g.,STEMS OF GRASSES AND OTHER MONOCOTS.SUCH TISSUES ALSO OCCUR BELOW THE NODES e.g.,MINT.

Intercalary meristem

Intercalary meristem is the meristem at the base of the leaves or internodes (on either side of the node) on twigs. As the cells of this tissue are very active, they have dense cytoplasm, thin cellulose walls and prominent nuclei. They lack vacuoles.

Apical meristem

The apical meristem is the growth region in plants found within the root tips and the tips of the new shoots and leaves. Apical meristem is one of three types of meristem, or tissue which can differentiate into different cell types. Meristem is the tissue in which growth occurs in plants.
