A baby chick hatches out of an egg laid by a hen. The development of chicken’s embryo takes place inside the female body. This type of fertilisation is known as internal fertilisation. The male and female gamete fuses inside the female body to form a zygote. The zygote then divides repeatedly and moves down to fallopian tube to form an embryo. During development, the embryo forms several protective layers around it. As a result, a white colour hard shell is formed around the developing embryo. After this, the hen lays a fertilised egg. The parent hen then sits and warms the eggs or keeps them safely in the warm place till they hatch. After three weeks, the chick is completely developed and it bursts open the egg shell.

hope this helps you!!^_^

Eggs form inside your hen's body when her ovary releases the egg yolk into the oviduct. If a rooster has access to your hen and chooses to mate with her, the egg will be fertilized when it is traveling through the oviduct. The egg also will develop the egg white and eggshell form while the egg is traveling through the oviduct. Hens will lay eggs regardless of whether or not they are being kept in the company of a rooster. Your laying hen's body is naturally intended to produce an egg once every 24 to 27 hours and it will form the egg regardless of whether the egg is actively fertilized during its formation.
