International organisations are undemocratic because any action taken by them is almost always influenced by back door diplomacy or maneuvering by the nation which wants such action/decision to be taken. The position that a nation enjoys in the world order is therefore the biggest influencing value in such cases.
The base on which democracy is bases, equality, is therefore nowhere to be found. Issues raised by certain nations are given importance and weaker nations have no standing in such institutions. If we look at organisations like the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Trade Organisation etc. we can see that this statement holds true.
Moreover, the way in which leaders of such institutions are elected is heavily tilted towards these so called 'superpowers'.
