While the internet does help students a great way in providing 24/7 study help and innumerable international resources, it is still quite false to say that internet has reduced the importance of teachers. It had just reduced the need of availability of teachers all the time....now internet can be helpful for some of those immediate needs. Only a teacher can impart perfect knowledge of a topic to you manually which can stay with you forever, the internet only provides information and it's all about virtuality. And if you speak about the students being more dependent upon internet than their actual teachers, then where does the sources in internet come from? They are obviously human made, the computers don't make them, so even if you're taking live session through the internet or your watching YouTube videos or is it any website like Brainly, Meritnation, Khan Academy or any other, it's still the teachers who have created them. Thus we just tend to think that the teacher's importance is decreasing but in reality, we're just getting connected to other teachers who can help us 24/7 rather than just staying put to our school teachers only. So it's a good fact that you stay very loyal to your one school teacher....but it's not bad to reach out to teachers over the internet for study purposes because they just help you as much as your school teacher fors and hence every teacher deserves equal respect.
Hope this makes the point quite clear and is helpful to you!
