Independent and fast progressing India needs internet connectivity in a much bigger way. Today many of our small towns and villages do not have access to internet. Even in our cities, when people are on the move, a steady internet connection is not available to them.

Communication is very important in this age and internet is the biggest highway through which most of the information travels. At the click of a button, we get to know about political and economic development, scientific research, weather warnings and all kinds of other information that prepares us to adopt measures for our progress or well-being.India's technological and economic progress depends on how we are able to provide internet connectivity to our people.

Besides disseminating information, the internet is also necessary to transmit documents, which would earlier take a long time to reach through post. So, business to business and business to customer information exchange is hastened.

When information about cyclones is received in advance, we can evacuate our people well ahead of the calamity. Similarly, our farmers can be told in advance of the measures to be taken in unfavourable weather conditions.

In view of the above, internet connectivity has become a necessity today for our country's progress and prosperity.
