GUNTUR: District Collector Jayesh Ranjan will be relieved from his duties on Friday afternoon and would leave for a mid-career training programme that would be held in Mussourie and South Korea. Mr. Jayesh would leave Guntur after attending a video conference with the Chief Secretary. Joint Collector Kantilal Dande would assume Full Additional Charge as Collector.
Though there had been no official confirmation about the likely continuation of Collector here, the communiqué sent by the Government said that the Collector would resume his duties in Guntur soon after the training programme.
He assumed charge just before the schedule for the general elections was announced, received plaudits from general public as well as the Election Commission of India for ensuring trouble-free polls.
The Collector ensured that the revenue and the police departments acted in perfect coordination to ensure that the polls passed off without any single major incident.
The pre-poll preparatory exercise which he has undertaken with Superintendent of Police in sensitive areas in Palnadu region has yielded the desired results.
