The concept of inter particle space can be explained with an example; when Oxygen and Nitrogen gases are mixed, the space between the particles of Nitrogen and Oxygen will be called as the inter particle space.

Hence, it can be termed as space between the particles of two microscopic bodies like molecules, or atoms etc.
