Given :-

  • A cylindrical tank of radius 10.5 m, if its capacity is equal to that of a rectangular tank of size 15 m x 11 mx 10.5 m.

To find :-

  • Depth of cylindrical tank

Solution :-

  • Length of rectangular tank = 15m

  • Breadth of rectangular tank = 11m

  • Height of rectangular tank = 10.5m

It is given that the capacity of rectangular tank is equal to capacity of cylinderical tank

  • Radius of cylinderical tank = 10.5 m

As we know that

→ Volume of cylinder = Volume of cuboid

→ πr²h = l × b × h

  • Put the values

→ 22/7 × (10.5)² × h = 15 × 11 × 10.5

→ 22 × 1.5 × 10.5 × h = 165 × 10.5

→ 33 × 10.5 × h = 1732.5

→ 346.5 × h = 1732.5

→ h = 1732.5/346.5

→ h = 5 m

Hence,

  • Height of cylinderical tank is 5 m
