Intrinsic Semiconductor:
- These are pure semiconductors and there is no impurity in them.
- Examples are Ge and Si.
- Electron density in conduction band is equal to hole density in valence band.
- It's Conductivity is very small.
Extrinsic Semiconductor:
- These are formed by mixing small amount of impurity in intrinsic semiconductors.
- These are prepared by mixing P ,Ga in pure Si and Ge.
- Electron and hole densities are not same.
- It's Conductivity is comparatively high.
