Introducing Someone
Social situations often expect you to introduce two people to each other. When you have
to do this, remember to
i. Mention the name of the person you are introducing.
2. Speak loudly and clearly, so that the other person can catch the name,
Mention how you know the person you are introducing -- is the connection a personal
one? Or do you know this person from work? Say a few words about the person you are
introducing. These need not be a long list of the person's accomplishments. Instead, you
can simply mention a few interesting facts.
Sometimes you may find yourself introducing someone to a roomful of people. The person
you are introducing is sure to be someone relatively famous and you will have been entrusted
with the task of telling the audience about him/her. Under these circumstances remember to
Tell the audience who the person is. Avoid mentioning a long list of all his her
accomplishments and restrict yourself to only the highlights of his/her life.
You can also mention which of his/her qualifications and experiences make him/her
the right person to talk on this occasion.
Mention something about the topic of the talk. This does not mean you give away the
entire speech, but it is a good idea to touch lightly on what the speaker is going to talk
about.
Enliven your introduction with a few jokes and quips
Now take turns introducing your friends to each other.
