sarojini Nauru is one of the renowned Indian poets writing in English , though her poetry has been bitterly criticised by modern poets and critics . She was born in 1879 in Hyderabad . She received her education in india and England . She began her writing career at the age of twelve . Her first collection of poems THE GOLDEN THRESHOLD appeared in 1905 . The Feather of the Dawn , another collection of poems , was published posthumously in 1961 by her daughter . After independence , she became the governor of U.P. state .She passed away in 1949.

an Indian poetess of English language and known as the Nightingale of India--Sarojini Naidu was a great patriot who took part in freedom struggle and became the first woman governor of UP she was literally one of the gems of the world.Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13 ,1879 in Hyderabad,Sarojini Naidu was the eldest daughter of Varasundari and doctor Aghornath was a scientist and forward the principle of Nizam college of Hyderabad.
