Joint Hindu Family Business is unique to India. It is a specific type of organization that is restricted to certain parts of India.
Hindu undivided family is involved in a business, giving the ownership to ‘head of the family’. He is called ‘Karta’. The members of the family are called 'Co-parceners'.
It works by the Hindu law giving rights and liabilities to co-parceners. All members should belong to the same family. Any number of members can participate in the business. Karta has the right to make decisions. The firm continue to exit irrespective of any death (Karta or co-parceners ).
