When Timur Invaded in India, he completely ruined the Tughluq dynasty. And, he left behind Khizr Khan as his deputy in India who later, In 1414, conquered Delhi and started the Sayyid Dynasty, the fourth dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate who was in power from 1414-1451.

The Sultans become weaker during this period and Khizr Khan and his successors spend their time time to control the rebillions in different parts of the kingdom.

Khizr Khan was succeeded by three rulers- Mubarak shah Sayyid, Mohammed shah Sayyid and Allauddin Alam shah Sayyid. In 1451, an Afghan chief, Bahlul Lodi, defeated Allauddin Alam Shah who was the last ruler of the Sayyid Dynasty.
