       Introduction to analytical chemistry

Analytical chemistry can be explained as the field of chemistry which is responsible for describing the composition of matter, both qualitatively (Is there any lead in this sample?) and quantitatively (How much lead is in this sample?).

The quantitative and qualitative analysis which is told in schools in an example of analytical chemistry. When the amount of acid or base is estimated using certain reagents and indicators, it is called as quantitative analysis as the amount is being determined.

When the nature and type of salt is being determined through different tests, then it is called as qualitative analysis.
