The vascular bundle refers to a strand of conducting vessels in the leaves or stem of a plant, generally with phloem on the external side and xylem on the inside.

In the stem of Nyctanthes of the family Oleaceae, apart from the usual vascular bundles taking place in more or less a ring, there exhibit four cortical bundles at the ridged segments of the stem. These bundles are inverted and are obviously the bundles of leaf trace.
