The most common example is lichens, where an alga and a fungus live together. the alga being and autotroph, manufactures food and supplies it to fungus. on the other hand, the fungus, Being and saprophyte, provide water, mineral and shelter to the alga. both live together in an intimate association and are unable to live individually.
2. The root nodules of the leguminous plants, such as pea, have Rhizobium bacteria. They too exhibit symbiotic relationship. Rhizobium bacteria take atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into nitrogenous compounds. These nitrogenous compounds are utilised by the Legume plant. Plants, in turn shelter and nutrients to the Rhizobium bacteria.
