iodine is consumed due to its addition to fatty acids. therefore the coloured became colourless. but when the same procedure is followed for vanspati ghee, a similar colour change is not observed. as vanapati ghee is saturated hydrocarbon the......... reaction does not occur there

Here according to the question Iodine is unsaturated thus it changes the colour of Bromine water. But in the case of Vanaspati Ghee no change is observed thus it doesnt react with bromine water
