the compound Ca3(PO4)2 is the molecule Calcium Phosphate.

Calcium is a +2 cation Ca+2

Phosphate is a -3 polyatomic anion PO−34

It takes three +2 calcium ions to balance with two -3 phosphate ions in order for the ionic charges to be equal an opposite.
