Ionic compounds are good conductors of electricity in the fused state(or in aqueous) state because the electrostatic forces of attraction weaken in fused state or in solutionstate.Hence ions become mobile.

Ionic compounds in solid state do not conduct electricity because in solid state the particles are very tightly packed due to the strong force of attraction between them. Since, particles are not free to move so they cannot carry ions which enables the current to be passed. And so, they are not able to conduct electricity in solid state.

However,

In molten state the particles in ionic compounds are able to move within it and also carry the ions and thus enables the current to pass through them.
