In Inorganic chemistry, the basic definition of an acid is "The one which gives out a proton( H⁺) on dissociation"

When we deal with it Ionically;
A small amount of Sulphuric acid dissociates in water, it gives out 2H⁺ ions and a SO₄²⁻ ion.

The presence of these H⁺ ions in the aqueous solution are enough to justify it as an Acid.
