O:1s2 2s2 2p4
N:1s2 2s2 2p3
The iono
Ionization energy of nitrogen is more than oxygen as 2p shell of nitrogen is half filled and to remove an electron from half filled orbital requires huge amount of energy
Whereas oxygen has 4 electrons in 2p shell . So an electron can be easily removed .
So nitrogen has high ionization energy than oxygen
