energy required to removed electron from outer most in gaseious state it depends on
Atomic radius
nuclear charge
electronic confuratn
penitrating power
if atom size increase IE decrease do to less atraction on outer most shell it is easy to remove elecron

The energy required to remove an electron from the outermost shell of a neutral gaseous atom is called as Ionisation Energy.
Factors Effecting Ionisation energy are:-
1) Atomic Radius
2) Screening Effect
3) Effective Nuclear charge
4)Extra stability
5) Penetration effect on orbitals.
Variation of I. E in periods and groups:-
In periods:-On moving from left to right in a period, value of Ionisation energy increases because effective nuclear charge also increases.
In groups:- On moving from top to bottom in a group, the value of I.E decreases because Atomic radius increases.
