Iqbal and Peter carry a 60 kg bag of cement by means of 2.4m long pole at what distance from Iqbal must the bag be suspended so that he may carry 2/3 of the load neglecting the mass of the pole

W_1=W_2      (1)

Where,

W₁=work done by Iqbal=F₁x₁

W₂=work done by Peter=F₂x₂

From the question we have,

Mass of cement bag=60kg

The length of the pole=2.4m

Let the distance of suspension of the bag from Iqbal be "x" and the distance of suspension of the bag from Peter be "2.4-x".

Now by using equation (1) we get;

\frac{2}{3}\times 60\times g\times x=\frac{1}{3}\times 60\times g\times  (2.4-x)

2x=2.4-x

3x=2.4

x=0.8m

Hence, the bag should be suspended 0.8 m from Iqbal.
