Given :   Iqbal, Cherian and Rahul are close friends.  weight of  photo frame  4 kg more than chess set.  Couriering charge = 5 + 3.25 × weight

To find :     Hoe much more  Iqbal ( photo frame ) paid for couriering his parcel  than Cherian ( chess set)

Solution:

Couriering charge = 5 + 3.25 × weight

=> for xtra 4 kg amount paid extra would be

= 4 * 3.25

= 13

Let say Weight of Chess Set = W kg

then Weight of photo Frame = W + 4 kg

Courier charges paid by Cherian = 5 + 3.25W

Courier charges paid by IQbal  = 5  + 3.25(W + 4)

Extra Charges Paid by Iqbal  than cherian  = Courier charges paid by IQbal  - Courier charges paid by Cherian

=  5  + 3.25(W + 4) - ( 5 + 3.25W  )

= 5 + 3.25W  + 3.25*4  - 5 - 325W

= 3.25 * 4

= 13

IQbal Paid 13  more for courier charges

Iqbal paid d) 13 zeds extra than Cherian for couriering Rahul’s birthday gift.

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the courier charge is:

c = 5 + (3.25 × w)

Let the weight of the chess set be 'x'

Let the weight of the photo frame be 'x + 4'

The courier charge paid for chess set is:

c' = 5 + (3.25 × x)

The courier charge paid for photo frame is:

c'' = 5 + (3.25 × (x + 4))

The extra paid is given by the formula:

E = Courier charge of photo frame - Courier charge of chess set

E = 5 + (3.25 × (x + 4)) - (5 + (3.25 × x))

E = 5 + 3.25x + 13 - 5 - 3.25x

∴ E = 13 zeds
