Given : irfan has pens and pencils which together are 11 in numbers,

two times the number of pens. exceeds three times the numbers of pencils by  2

To Find :  the number of pens and pencils, Irfan has.

Solution:

Number or Pens  = P

Number of Pencils  =  11 - P

two times the number of pens. exceeds three times the numbers of pencils by 2

=> 2P = 3(11 - P)   + 2

=> 2P = 33 - 3P  + 2

=> 5P = 35

=> P = 7

Pens = 7

Pencils = 11 - 7 = 4

Pens = 7

Pencils = 4
