iron ball is solid and water is liquid .how do these two differ with respect to their compressibility

as we know that particals of matter have space between them. but as compare to solid with respect to liquid ,solid has less gaps between the particles but in water these particles are not held tightly that it makes particles freely so water float but solid donot .solid has rigidity but water haven't...
