Iron filings are dropped in aqueous solution of copper sulphate. Write chemical equation for the event.

the equation will be✔✌

Fe + CuSO4------>Fe2SO4 +Cu.

The iron fillings becomes reddish-brown. This is because a layer of copper gets deposited over the surface of the iron nail.
Iron is more reactive than copper, so, it displaces copper from the solution of copper sulphate and the colour of the solution slowly changes from blue to green due to formation of iron sulphate.

Fe + CuSO4 ------- Cu + FeSO4
