iron gets rusted but gold does not.why?

Iron is reactive to air and moisture that's why it gets rusted but gold is very less reactive and it doesn't reacts with air, moisture or water.

it is because iron is highly reactive and comes in one of the top list in the metal reactivity series .
on the other hand, gold is not highly reactive and comes second last in the metal reactivity series and thus gold is so much costly
