Ironing Man, the superhero with the best creased outfit, has had his three most precious irons stolen. He traces the crime to the mischievous mastermind - Penultron. Like always,Penultron has set up an elaborate puzzle for Ironing Man to solve in order to retrieve his irons. There are three heavy and tightly shut doors marked 1,2,3, with the three irons hidden behind them. Outside the doors is a panel with three identical, unlabelled buttons.Penultron tells Ironing Man that he has thirty minutes to press the switches any number of times. After that time, all three doors will open.If he correctly matches each iron to the corresponding button, he gets to take his precious irons home, but if he gets even one wrong, Penultron willdestroy all three irons. If pressing a button once turns an iron-on, and pressing it again turns the iron off, what is the least number of presses that Ironing Man needs to do to safely retrieve all his irons?
