Ranga's marriage irony was that the author wanted to show the reality of astrology.....As in the story Shastri meet with the astrologer and influenced him to said all that what have he told to him....Thus..Ranga trusted on astrologer and decided to get married with Ratna.....In this way we can say that always astrologers are not clearly see the stars but only predicted....
