Irrigation farming is most commonly required in the places where there is a lack of sufficient water when the monsoon breezes are late to shower rain. However, the South West monsoon blows accumulate precipitation over the Arabian sea Division and drizzle satisfactory quantity of rainfall to the places near the Western coastal region. Therefore, places near the Western Coast of India have very limited method of irrigation farming.
