Step-by-step explanation:

Zero is more than a rational and an irrational number.

Here’s why: Numbers are by definition abstracts, because there is no such thing as a four walking down the street, or a seven drinking a cup of coffee. Even when taking pi, it will not be eating something like cake. There’s no actual there there with these numbers. These numbers always beg the question: four of what? seven of what?

Yet with zero, reality actually comes together with the abstract number. If I state to have zero currency in my wallet, I can just as easily state that my wallet contains zero (and not use any modifier of that zero) for all to understand there’s simply nothing in my wallet. Had I said that my wallet contained one, I would have had to declare what that one stood for (dollars, yen, piece of lint, you name it).

Zero is more than a rational and an irrational number. It is in its own category. Zero is extremely important to understand, because it represents both the general position in which we can declare something in specifics or the very specific declaration that there isn’t anything (there are therefore two levels to zero).

I hope it helps you mate :D
