TOPIC :- ARITHMETIC PROGRESSION

CONCEPT :- Terms are in A.P. if the difference between any two consecutive term is same.This difference is called common difference, denoted by 'd'.

For example :- 1, 5 , 9 ,13, 17 are in A.P. because the common difference between any two consecutive term is 4.

Now, given term = 1/2, 1/4, 1/6 , 1/8 is not in A.P. This is because the common difference between any two consecutive term is not same.

Question : is 1/2,1/4,1/6,1/8 in ap?

Answer   :   No

Step-by-step explanation:

1/2 , 1/4 , 1/6 , 1/8

If the series is in AP their difference must be equal.

So Series be a,b,c,d

So b-a = c-b = d=c

=> 1/4 - 1/2 = - 1/4

1/6 - 1/4 = - 1/12

1/8 - 1/6 = - 1/24

As the common difference is not same in all cases .So This series is not in AP.

Hope helps u and mark brainliest plz
