yes -1/3 is a zero of 3x+1,

let p(x)=3x+1,

now -1/3 will be a zero of p(x) if p(-1/3)=0,

hence
p(-1/3) = 3×-1/3 +1,

p(-1/3) =-1+1=0,

since
p(-1/3) =0 then -1/3 will be a zero of p(x)

namanjain1024: pls tell verification also
