\sf{\pmb{CORRECT\;QUESTION:}}

  • Is x-1 a factor of f(x)=x²-1

\sf{\pmb{ANSWER:}}

Let f(x) = x²-1

Divisor = x-1

Apply Remainder Theorem ,

⟹x-1=0

⟹x=1

•°•f(x)={1}^{2}-1

f(x) = 0

  • So by factor theorem ,(x-1) is a factor of f(x)=x²-1
